An exciting and informative panel discussion with leading robotics industry experts!

Jorgen Petersen, President & CEO, RE2 Robotics
Vaibhav Vohra, SVP of Product, Gecko Robotics
Jeremy Searock, Co-Founder & President, Advanced Construction Robotics
(Discussion Moderated By) Spencer Krause, Director of Product Development, SKA | Custom Robots and Machines

In this discussion, we explored some of the unique challenges encountered with product engineering and design for Field Robotics.

This panel of industry experts shared interesting stories, various development/design approaches, commercialization strategies, what 'not' to do and lessons learned.

What exactly is 'Field Robotics'?
Field Robotics primarily refers to the automation of mobile machines, vehicles and platforms operating in harsh and unstructured environments, that perform tasks often characterized as too dangerous or hazardous for humans. These types of robots are not programmed to simply perform repetitive tasks, and must instead be highly adaptive and responsive to variable and dynamic environmental conditions, sometimes even in unexplored and unknown terrain. Field robots are highly desirable to a number of different industries, including aerospace, aviation, agriculture, mining and autonomous transport, and they utilize some of the most advanced robotics principles in sensing, control, and reasoning while in perilous and unforgiving environments.
