In order to create a more elegant means of transportation for disabled veterans, SKA created Tank Chair. Tank Chair is an off-road vehicle. It fares as well in mud and snow as it does on pavement and concrete.

Tank Chair was built as a concept vehicle and has not yet been put into production, though it has been driven heavily by our team.

Check out the closeups of Tank Chair below. In the rear you can see the 2 motors that power the chair. The motors were so large that special holes had to be designed into the rear panel in order to fit them into the frame. Power is taken in through a large centralized connector.

Under the hood, you can see the brains of Tank Chair. A stack of circuit boards take in commands from the joysticks and orientation sensors and make smart decisions about how hard to drive the motors for optimum ride, speed and balance.
